Alessandra Pozzuoli is an emerging interdisciplinary artist. Her practice explores how sacred meaning is communicated through gesture, objects, and ritual. Inspired by material languages of Italian Canadian women, her work highlights women’s labor as caretakers and keepers of cultural knowledge within the context of devotion, family, and loss. Pozzuoli is based on the traditional territories of many First Nations, including the Petun, the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinabek, and the Mississaugas of the Credit, otherwise known as King, Ontario.
